About Us

In February 2008, the Inter-Agency Information and Analysis Unit (IAU) was established, bringing together analysts from UN agencies and NGOs.

The purpose of the IAU is to improve the impact of the humanitarian and development response in Iraq through the strategic use of information.

This inter-agency unit works to ensure a coherent and over-arching analysis on key humanitarian and development issues, and build evidence on needs, results and impact. It defines a common and holistic understanding of short and long term needs in Iraq and strengthens partnerships for data collection and analysis between the international community, Iraqi governmental authorities and civil society.

The IAU reports to the Head of OCHA Iraq and the DSRSG / RC / HC for Iraq.
